Summer is Here

Hello,

As usual we've been ridiculously busy recently, but it's nice to take a break and look back at what we've been up to over the last few weeks. The sun is shining again here and the garden has sprung back into life. We've been doing some moving around in the apartment and redecorating (as much as we can in a rental). We're half way through chalk painting the majority of our mismatched old furniture to make the place look a bit more coordinated and bright. I will be sure to upload pictures when it's all finished.

Our half-finished rocking chair!

A lovely bottle of lemonade that we found at our local farm shop on a summery Saturday.

Sunny days spent doing laundry and housework.

Our green bushy herbs.

Pretty flowers foraged from our garden.

Our herbs, tomato and strawberry plants are growing nicely.

  1. Just to say best of luck to you and Dene. I'm an old codger who has been married for over 50 years and I can recommend it, if you find the right person as I did. I married at 20, and so it really is possible to be young and responsible and run a home and a job. But it was more usual to marry young in the 1960s! Anyway, best of luck to you both.

    1. Thanks Michelle! It's not finished yet, I'm going to do some more coats today, we have a nice colour similar to the chairs we bought at hemswell that we're going to use as the top coat, then we will distress it. Hope you are all well and enjoying your Saturday. Lots of love x

  3. You're making a beautiful home there. There is nothing quite like a first home built with love rather than money. Good luck. xx
